30ml Coffee Syrup

60ml Coconut Milk

20ml Thoquino Batida Coco

0.75ml Citric Acid

20ml Cointreau

2 Dash Aztac Chocolate Bitters

Method

All ingredients are clarified, and then a dash of tonic water is added.

E.P.I.C. is the creation of legendary bartender Cross Yu.

 

Known throughout Shanghai and across China as a leading bartender and entrepreneur, Yu has also won global recognition. He was the winner of the Diageo World Class China award in 2009, and is the recipient of multiple other bartending awards.

 

E.P.I.C. is located on the tranquil Gaoyou Road in the old French Concession. Spanning three-floors, the atmosphere inside is anything but tranquil – the bar is known as one of the best party locations in Shanghai!

 

With an industrial-chic vibe, and a disco funky theme, it’s a place to dive in and let loose.

 

After starting out as a waiter in 2002, Yu quickly learned the bartender’s craft at venues including Mint and the Laris restaurant on Three on the Bund.

 

He then launched E.P.I.C. in 2014 with the slogan “Do Epic Shit!” The meaning of the bar’s name is clear once the disco lights get going – good music and good vibes here only, please.

 

Leading a young, vibrant team, Yu curates a delicious drinks list which contains ingredients like Mexican worm salt, tonka beans, saffron, soy sauce.

 

With a current menu inspired by astrology cocktails created at E.P.I.C. are always a treat for the eyes, palate and curiosity.

 

Since opening, E.P.I.C. has won global recognition. In 2021 the bar ranked no. 41 on the World’s 50 Best Bars list.
