Fentimans Get Light
The trend of Wellness Drinks is definitely in full force during this age of the environmentally-aware and the health-conscious… which makes it the perfect time to introduce Fentimans Light!
After countless years of listening to their consumers they have performed some scientific wizardry in the flavour department to present their low sugar range of iconic Rose Lemonade, Gently Sparkling Elderflower and Sparkling Raspberry.
Kapranos PR hosted a lunch in January for Fentimans launch of their new light range at the Bourne & Hollingsworth Garden Room, which boasts some of the best views in Soho. The new ‘Light’ range was seated within a specially designated area of the restaurant filled with serotonin boosting lights, creating the perfect atmosphere to lift everybody’s mood.
It was a lunch filled with influencers and industry contacts celebrating Fentimans latest products, ready to take hold of their place in the ever-evolving market.
We, at The Cocktail Service, can assure you it’s the same great Fentimans taste but now with fewer calories. The new recipe for the Fentimans Light soft drink range contains no artificial sweeteners. Each drink contains less than 60 calories per bottle, whilst sugar has been reduced to 4.8g per 100ml.
Now isn’t that delectably healthier? Why not read our Guide to Drinking on a Diet for more info on healthy drinking.
The creation traditionally adheres to the same botanical brewing method Fentimans have been using for over 100 years, where milled ginger root and selected botanicals are fermented for seven days. Just as all their range of soft drinks and especially crafted mixers do.
One of their fabulous cocktail mixes we love is The English Garden.
The G without the T. Rose Lemonade offers the perfect alternative to tonic water. Try this fresh floral cocktail this weekend!
125ml Rose Lemonade Light
50ml Hendricks Gin
10ml House of Broughton Cucumber Syrup
Garnish with Lemon or Cucumber
A little history on the brand and the man – In 1905, Thomas Fentiman, an iron puddler from Cleckheaton, England was approached by a fellow tradesman for a loan.
The recipe for botanically brewed ginger beer was provided as security but the loan was never repaid so Thomas became the proprietor of the exclusive recipe, delivering door-to-door using a horse and cart. His Ginger Beer was sealed in stone jars, tenderly termed as Grey Hens.
Fearless, Thomas’ faithful family dog, was the winner of Crufts obedience class of 1933 and 1934. Thomas was so proud of her achievement he made her the face of the brand. Fearless proudly guards every Fentimans bottle to this day.
The world has changed a lot over 100 years since Thomas Fentiman founded the business. Fentimans have had to adapt to meet the demands of an ever-changing world.
Changes in the way people shop has meant door-to-door deliveries have made way for selling online and in shops, bars and restaurants. The old stone jars adorned by ‘Fearless’ have also been replaced by the iconic and instantly recognisable glass bottle.
It seems like every year there’s a new Drink Trend to keep on top of and the Fentimans new Light range is only the newest innovation the brand has developed and presented to the world. So get tasting!
